It is not just what we say to others that affect how they treat us. Rather, others treat us the way THEY perceive us. Often these perceptions stem from how we act. Here are two suggestions for getting others to want to do more for you:
1. Always show positive attitudes toward your job so that your subordinates will follow what they see.
2. As you approach your job each day, ask yourself, "Are all my habits such that I would be glad to see them emulated by my subordinates?"
Remember, you set the expectations by your own behavior. Your attitude is contagious. Is it worth catching?
